US regulators have found dangerous industrial ‘forever chemicals’ in meats, fish, and chocolate cake sold in supermarkets – and high levels of those chemicals in people’s blood.
But officials insist there is not enough evidence to prove a link between those grocery items and affected Americans.
‘Forever chemicals’ (called PFAS, short for per- and polyfluoroalykyl substances) are a worrisome class of nonstick, stain-resistant industrial compounds linked to kidney cancer, pregnancy complications, and high cholesterol levels.
