Scientists create AI cameras that can detect when hospital staff don’t wash their hands, in new effort to fight infection

When patients go to the hospital to get treated for an illness, sometimes they end up far more sick than they were when they entered.

According to the CDC, one in 25 hospital patients contracts at least one hospital-acquired infection.

In an effort to improve hospital hygiene standards and reduce the incidence of these infections, researchers have developed an AI camera-tracking system that automatically identifies when staffers and patients use hand sanitizer dispensers.
