Regular exercise bears the closest resemblance to a ‘magic bullet’ to combat the worldwide epidemic of obesity and cardiovascular disease, experts have suggested.
The statistics on regular physical activity in the US are bleak; only about 20 per cent of Americans (23 per cent of men and 18 per cent of women) get enough exercise, and about 64 per cent never do any physical activity at all.
In Europe the picture is just as depressing.
