Thousands Diagnosed with Deadly Valley Fever as Cases Soar

A potentially life-threatening fungal illness is rapidly spreading throughout a section of the western United States. Health officials suspect a few reasons for the rise in cases including rainfall affecting the way the fungus grows and spreads, and more people moving to high-risk areas that tend to get hot and dry.
