Poppi — the prebiotic soda brand that’s been endorsed by celebrity influencers and has shown up everywhere from Shark Tank to the 2024 Super Bowl — has been hit with a new class-action lawsuit, Business Insider reports. The lawsuit, filed last week, accuses the beverage brand of making misleading claims about its benefits to gut health.

“A consumer would need to drink more than four Poppi sodas in a day to realize any potential health benefits from its prebiotic fiber,” the lawsuit claims. “However, even if a consumer were to do this, Poppi’s high sugar content would offset most, if not all, of these purported gut health benefits.”
