A big thank you to Dr. Bob for telling me about Continence Centers of America in Arizona in March, 2000, and encouraging women to use a pessary and not have a hysterectomy. I got in touch with those folks and they greatly helped me. My problem was a prolapsed uterus that had just happened to me in Dec. of 1999. I refused surgery, and went to the Dr. and got the pessary, a silicone ring that comfortably, and even without knowing it is there, holds up the uterus. It has been almost 3 years since I started using one. So, I just wanted to spread the word, that before one decides to have a hysterectomy because of a prolapse, please consider a pessary. Doctors. are not trained in the use of these, so one can search the internet or go to a forum that has knowledgeable women that helped me decide on the right one for me.
