Schools in flu mayhem as child death toll climbs: Campuses closed in 13 states to ‘disinfect’ classrooms after up to 30% of kids called out sick

The flu has forced schools in at least 13 states to close this week.

So far, more than 40 children – including three reported just this week – have died of the aggressive H3N2 flu strain, which is widespread in every state except for Hawaii – this season.

Schools are shutting their doors as scores of teachers and students call out sick and health officials scramble to disinfect educational facilities and properties.
