Less than 50 per cent of teenagers in the UK eat fruit or vegetables every day, according to new research.

The finding came from an international report by the World Health Organization (WHO) that examined adolescent health behaviours from 2002 to 2014.

Dr Jo Inchley, assistant director of the child and adolescent health research unit, at the University of St Andrews, who were involved in the research, said: ‘As they get older, young people eat less fruit and vegetables, with less than half of the UK’s adolescent population reporting that they eat fruit or veg daily.
