Doctors Place Patients in Harm’s Way by Over Prescribing Blood Pressure Drugs

Blood pressure medications are taken by millions in the US to prevent heart disease, the number two killer of Americans. University of California, San Francisco, researchers found doctors may be over-zealous in prescribing more intense blood pressure medications to patients admitted for non-cardiac health problems, which may cause serious side effects including  dangerous cardiovascular problems.
