Giving Birth in America Remains Unacceptably Deadly

U.S. infant mortality rates are about 71 percent higher than the comparable country average. The United States has the worst overall child mortality rate compared with those of 19 other wealthy nations in the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. Researchers from the University of Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre and others investigated a correlation between diet and being at a higher risk of developing potentially deadly preeclampsia.
