Mediterranean diets reduce women’s risk of hearing loss by 30% by lowering inflammation in their ears, study finds

Diets influence people’s risk of hearing loss, new research suggests.

Women who follow theĀ Mediterranean or so-called DASH way of eating are around 30 percent less likely to become deaf, a study found. The DASH diet is rich in fruit, vegetables and nuts.

Researchers believe eating lots of fish, vegetables and whole grains helps to lower people’s blood pressure and reduce inflammation, leading to better blood flow through their ears.
